BECK releases EP from sessions recorded at Prince's Paisley Park

Earlier this year, Beck accepted the honour of an invitation to record at Paisley Park, Prince’s legendary production complex and creative sanctuary in Minnesota. The resulting Paisley Park Sessions EP captures a near-impromptu jam by Beck and his band, who performed two of Beck’s own songs in addition to a medley of Prince’s iconic hits.

Beck is the first major music artist to record in Prince’s revered Studio A since his passing in 2016 – it was his primary workspace for over three decades wherein he wrote and recorded countless hits.

Paisley Park Sessions, now available on Amazon Music as an Amazon Original audio release, showcases Beck and his band channeling the studio’s inspired energy into a Prince medley of “Raspberry Beret,” “When Doves Cry,” “Kiss,” and “1999.” Rounding out the EP are unique, streamlined arrangements of two classic Beck originals, “Where It’s At” and “Up All Night,” respectively from the GRAMMY-winning albums Odelay and Colors. The sessions are available to stream on all tiers of Amazon Music, including in the highest quality audio with Amazon Music HD.

Also available today is an exclusive video interview with Beck captured at Paisley Park about this not-so-mellow gold experience, viewable below. Three performance clips from the Paisley Park Sessions will follow on November 18th.

Beck’s forthcoming 14th studio album, Hyperspace, will be released November 22nd on Capitol Records.

Amazon Music listeners can hear Beck’s Paisley Park Sessions by simply asking, “Alexa, Play Beck at Paisley Park” in the Amazon Music app for iOS and Android and on Alexa-enabled devices. In addition, Amazon Music listeners can access hundreds of Amazon Originals featuring both emerging and established artists across numerous genres, available to stream and purchase only on Amazon Music.
