BEAR'S DEN Announce new single 'AGAPE' out 6 April

Bear’s Den will release ‘Agape’ as their new single on 6th April 2015 via Communion Records. The follow-up to recent single ‘Think Of England’, ‘Agape’ is the latest track to be taken from the band’s acclaimed debut album ‘Islands’, which is out now. Having first appeared as the title track on the London trio’s 2013 indie EP, ‘Agape’ (which is pronounced “a-ga-pay” and is the Greek word for love) has become a firm favourite amongst the band’s fervent fanbase.

The single’s accompanying video was filmed on Bantham Beach in Devon, just across the bay from Burgh Island where Ben Howard recorded his EP of that title. Kev Jones of the band explains, “To me, the song is partly about insecurity in a relationship, about never being able to shake that feeling and how by default that feeling can lead to a relationship’s demise. I thought slowly sinking into the sand only to be engulfed in waves summed that up well, the feeling of inevitability brought on by your own thoughts and the sensation of restriction that can manifest itself in those situations… The shoot itself was a little more brutal that we had imagined – nothing can quite prepare you for being buried fully clothed in wet sand at 8am on a January morning.”

10″ vinyl copies & download bundles for ‘Agape’ will include three additional B-side tracks: ‘Hold On We’re Going Home’ (Drake cover), ‘Stay With Me’ (Sam Smith cover) and ‘Coffee’ (Sylvan Esso cover).

The band’s live success story continues to build… They are currently in the midst of a completely sold-out UK tour which will culminate with a homecoming show at London’s 2,500 capacity Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 3rd March. Full listings for all upcoming UK and European headline shows as follows:
