BEANS ON TOAST Announces TWO Albums for this December

BEANS ON TOAST has announced TWO brand new albums for release in Winter 2020. Revealed during his ‘Back At Home With Beans On Toast’ Livestream last night, the albums will be titled: ‘Knee Deep in Nostalgia’ & ‘The Unforeseeable Future’.

During the one-off live performance, the cult folk singer was joined by a number of special guests including FRANK TURNER, who confirmed he has both produced and plays on Beans’ upcoming ‘Knee Deep in Nostalgia’. (Watch it back here.)

When put together, Knee Deep in Nostalgia & The Unforeseeable Future might well sound like Beans’ prog rock double album. But rather than one extended opus, they’re more like yin and yang; two faces of the same coin deliberately intended to look in completely different directions. Past vs. Present. Dreamy escapism vs. a gritty reality check. Normal vs. New Normal…

‘Knee Deep In Nostalgia’ is an album packed with positivity, warm feelings and memories of good times. Rest assured, it has absolutely nothing to do with the worldwide pandemic. It was produced by folk/punk hero: Frank Turner, a longtime friend of Beans’ and a natural choice for the record. Alongside Frank’s playing, additional special guests on the record include Matt Hensley (Flogging Molly), Matt Nasir (Sleeping Souls), Guise and Anna Jenkins (The Red Clay Halo) who give it a full band sound.

It’s partner, ‘The Unforeseeable Future’ was recorded solo by Beans at home during the lockdown. It comprises a succession of pinpoint social commentaries all inspired by the “sh**show that has been the year 2020”, says Beans. Featuring just Beans with an acoustic guitar or piano, the album compiles songs that will be familiar to fans who followed the singer’s prolific single release series during the lockdown, plus introduces a number of new additions recorded since.

Both records will be released simultaneously on 1st December 2020 (via BOTMusic). Available to pre-order now, purchases come with a free download of brand new track “No Need To Be Frightened”.

Whether you want to shake your fist in fury at the world we live in, or forget about it completely – take your pick. Together, ‘Knee Deep in Nostalgia’ & ‘The Unforeseeable Future’ will provide essential listening to see out this most unprecedented of years.

In addition, to mark the release of the two albums and what will be his 40th Birthday, Beans on Toast will be hosting ‘THE BIG 40TH BIRTHDAY PARTY & ALBUM LAUNCH SPECTACULAR’. Taking place on 1st December 2020, Beans will be performing at a one-off, socially-distanced live show at The Clapham Grand, London. Expect songs from both new albums, some old favourites, some stories and some special guests. The event will also be streamed live to the world to allow fans to watch from home.
