APHEX TWIN ‘ CAUSTIC WINDOW’ ALBUM LEAKS ONLINE

Aphex Twin

Earlier this year, an alleged copy of Aphex Twin’s unreleased Caustic Window LP went up for sale on Discogs for $13,500. Soon after word spread, a group of users of the We Are The Music Makers forum began a Kickstarter scheme that would
raise funds for them to buy the record, raising a total of $67,424 from more than 4000 buyers. The album has now surfaced on YouTube, where you can listen to it in full.

The album reached test pressing phase in 1994 before it was eventually scrapped as a full release, with claims stating that there are only five copies of the record in the world (the four remaining test-pressings are reportedly owned by Mike Paradinas (µ-Ziq), Chris Jeffs (Cylob), Grant Wilson-Claridge (co-founder of Rephlex Records) and Richard D. James (Aphex Twin).
