AMY MACDONALD announces major 2021 UK tour

It’s already been over two years since Amy Macdonald last played some full-scale UK headline shows, but the wait is now set to come to an end as she announces a long-awaited tour. Commencing in October and representing her first since the release of the Top 10 album ‘The Human Demands’, the tour features her rescheduled show at London’s historic Roundhouse alongside new dates in Reading, Manchester, Stockton and Ipswich. It will culminate with a huge homecoming night at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on December 17th.

The tour was announced this morning on Zoe Ball’s Breakfast Show on Radio 2, which included a brand new session from Amy. Radio 2’s huge support of ‘The Human Demands’ album also continues with the news that Amy’s current single ‘Statues’ remains on the A-list for a phenomenal sixth consecutive week.

The dates are:

OCTOBER
21st – Reading, Hexagon (NEW SHOW)
22nd – Manchester, Bridgewater Hall (NEW SHOW)
23rd – Stockton, Globe (NEW SHOW)
25th – Ipswich, Regent (NEW SHOW)
26th – London, Roundhouse (REARRANGED DATE)

Fans who sign up at Amy’s official website will be able to access a pre-sale for tour tickets which opens at 10 am on Wednesday, April 14th. Tickets will then go on general sale from the same link from 10 am on Friday, April 16th.

Amy commented, “I wasn’t sure if we’d be able to do this but I’m very excited to announce live dates in the UK for 2021! I cannot wait to get back on stage and share my new songs (and the old ones!) with my fans up and down the country, and my team and I feel very positive that we’ll be able to do these shows come October. And as for Glasgow Hydro, I’ve been looking forward to playing my own show there ever since it opened, now it looks like we’ll be able to make it happen this year! I’m so appreciative of everyone’s patience with us in getting back to playing live shows again, and me and the guys promise to put everything into these shows, it’s going to be the most exciting tour I’ve ever done!

News of the UK dates follows the rescheduling of Amy’s European tour for March 2022. A full list of dates and ticket information can be found here.

To coincide with the announcement, Amy also shares two new acoustic versions of ‘The Hudson’ and ‘Bridges’, which follow last month’s new stripped-back versions of ‘Statues’ and ‘We Could Be So Much More’. Listen HERE.

Amy celebrated the release of ‘The Human Demands’ by playing a special Livestream show from the intimate Mildmay Club in Stoke Newington, London last November. The set debuted a handful of songs from the current album, and was completed by some of her iconic hits such as ‘This Is The Life’ and ‘Mr Rock & Roll’. The show raised over £10,000 for #WeMakeEvents and fans can continue to support the live events sector by donating or buying merch via the movement’s website. Amy then started this year by being named as the Independent Venue Week 2021’s official ambassador for Scotland.

‘The Human Demands’ has already added another 13 million streams to the huge international success that Amy has achieved throughout her career. The size of the stats speak for themselves: she has performed across the world in front of a total of 3.3 million people, accumulated over 200 million Spotify streams, landed four Top 5 albums (including her #1 debut) and sold six million albums. Her landmark hit, ‘This Is The Life’, topped the charts in ten countries. The first release under a new deal with Infectious / BMG, ‘The Human Demands’ has kickstarted another big chapter in Amy’s story.
