TRACK OF THE DAY: ROB BRAVERY - FRUITION - Watch Video

‘Fruition’ from Rob Bravery has a sparkling acoustic guitar and fully utilizes alternative folk stylings. The question asked by the track is do you fight the inevitable or give in and spare yourself the aggravation; “I’m waiting for the other shoe.” The lyrics are beautifully crafted and grab hold making the song highly addictive. In trying to find a parallel work to Bravery’s lyrical crafting I am reminded of Neil Finn’s amazing solo works in which the detail of the lyrics matches perfectly to the accompaniment.

‘Fruition’ is the latest in a series of stunning releases taken from Esque, which include ‘Submission Statement’, ‘Broom Cupboard’, ‘Knock Out Ginger’ and ‘Me, Myself and the Scurvy Knave’. The latter was recently championed in Huw Stephen’s ‘Best Of BBC Introducing’ Radio 1 playlist and his previous singles have been receiving plays across BBC 6Music, Radio 2 and Radio X also.

The captivating tracks come together in Esque, the masterful piece of work blending Rob Bravery’s beautiful songwriting and eclectic musicality. The striking album captures powerful observations from a first-hand perspective of broken families, homelessness and drug abuse; a chilling listening experience that tugs at the heartstrings and imaginations.
