SLIM TWIG unveils video for 'Live In, Live On Your Era’ - Watch

Currently on his first EU tour, DFA Records’ Slim Twig has unveiled the video for ‘Live In, Live On Your Era’, taken from his acclaimed album Thank You For Stickin’ With Twig. The video supports a single backed by an alternative version of album track ‘Fog of Sex’, which sees 4AD’s U.S. Girls, who co-wrote the track along with Slim Twig, taking the lead vocal.

The lyrics to ‘Live In, Live On Your Era’ relate to accepting your own cultural circumstances. In the surreal video, Slim Twig and the video’s director Lulu Hazel Turnbull dress in Georgian clothing and partake some of the present day’s finer leisure activities: ten-pin bowling, arcade games and cheap beer. Of the video Lulu says: “We wanted to make an anachronistic video to match the feel of the song. The idea was to have two characters whose dress juxtaposed their setting enjoying a Rumspringa-like evening out of their era. This plays on the lyrical theme of taking advantage of one’s circumstance to the fullest. “

Released in August 2015, Thank You For Stickin’ With Twig was labelled “almost unfathomable genius” by MOJO and “singularly inspired” by Uncut, while the Guardian Guide called Slim Twig a “rare truth-teller” as they picked track ‘Slippin’ Slidin’’ as Single of the Week.

Slim Twig’s has just started his first EU tour. He will come to the UK for a show at London’s Dalston Victoria on 2nd December, followed by a show in Brighton on 3rd December.
