‘She’s Got It Down’ is the captivating first single from Manchester’s essential new figurehead Ventrelles – the long expected pet project of songwriting stray Phil Ventrelle. Brimming with sumptuous accoutrements and life-affirming melody, ‘She’s Got It Down’ is a track laced with foot-tapping gusto, ambitious arrangements and a buoyant chorus to boot. Released on September 30th via electric new taste-making imprint Black Bleach Records the single serves as an assured and hearty introduction to a talented and yet unearthed songwriter.
A long-standing member of music scenes in Manchester and Liverpool, Phil befriended members of Liverpool’s iconic Deltasonic Records during the days of the Coral, the Zutons and the Little Flames who “made him fall in love with music again”.

Taking much of his musical influence from the array of subversive pop bands the North West is famous for producing – The Pale Fountains and The LA’s to name but a few – have played a seminal role in crystallising Ventrelles signature sound today. With ‘She’s Got It Down’ slated for a much-anticipated autumn release and a raft of new material in the works – you’d be right in thinking Ventrelles look set to join the ranks of the regions most cherished hit makers.
Having laid the foundations for Ventrelles while living abroad in Chicago, Phil called in some old friends for a mettlesome studio project on his return to the UK. Deaks and Joe Kondras from The Heartbreaks, Jason Goodwin (Delaplains), strings arranger Ben Parsons (Cherry Ghost, Miles Kane Band) and producer George Moran (formally of Mabel Love / Miles Kane Band) captured the mood at Fox Den Studios, Sheffield. In 2017, emerging Manchester imprint Black Bleach Records pick up on the session and sign Ventrelles — with a view to propelling them into the hearts and minds of many beginning with the release of debut single ‘She’s Got It Down’.
