Rory Wynne has released his debut EP ‘What Would Rory Wynne Do?’ The tracks were produced by The Coral’s James Skelly and Richard Turvey (Blossoms, Cabbage, She Drew the Gun) at Liverpool’s Parr Street Studios. James Skelly was quick to sign the 17-year-old to his label ‘Skeleton Key Records’ after watching Rory support fellow hometown band Blossoms at Stockport County Supporters Club.

The EP draws influence from some of Rory’s musical heroes including Nirvana, The Beatles, Oasis and Aerosmith. Speaking of his musical heroes, Rory said ‘One of my biggest inspirations is Jack White, the way he keeps working on different projects and evolving, you always have to evolve or you’ll be forgotten’.

A childhood accident at the age of 10 meant Rory was housebound for a summer. With not much else to do, Rory absorbed himself in music and sat for hours watching music videos: ‘There was nothing to really do except watch the telly, so my parents thought getting me a guitar was a good idea – I taught myself by playing and copying what I saw on the music video channels’.

With a confidence that belies his years and an EP of tracks that live up to the hype, Rory has been recruited by 2016’s biggest breakthrough act ‘Blossoms’ to support on The VO5 NME Awards tour, as well as confirming slots at Liverpool Sound City & Kendal Calling festivals.
