Having been ensconced in the studio working on new material, rising South London tropical pop singer/producer/DJ &around (Sam Simon) is pleased to announce details of a brand new track ‘Without Your Love’ and follows on from 2017’s much lauded electronic ballad ‘Dreaming All Night’.
Sam details the track: “I wrote the original song idea in Bali during a tropical storm I got to New Zealand about a month later and recorded a vocal sample of a woman singing to Maori gods next to the largest tree in the world (Tāne Mahuta) which sounded great dropped into this demo, so I booked a studio just outside Aukland in NZ parked outside in my campervan with my girlfriend for a couple days and finished tracking the song. it’s about realising how sad it would be being away from someone you love – when they’ve become such a big part of your life.”

The project was influenced by a recent trip around the world. &around was conceived on a laptop, a vocoder toy and an iPhone across Bali, Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines and Vietnam over the past 6 months. Sketching song ideas in hostel rooms, on boat trips between islands, long bus journeys and airport waiting rooms, he developed his vocoder style vocals by singing into a toy he found on the street in Bangkok, and travelled with it singing into his iPhone. This developed into the sound that is &around and after studio sessions all over the world, Sam is ready to launch his 2nd single ‘Without Your Love’.
